Ms. Loo Lean Gnoh’s life took a dramatic turn when she was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer, casting a storm cloud over her world. Initially she was feeling withdrawn and melancholic, but she decided not to let her emotions overpower her and instead embraced the challenge with resilience.
In August 2021, with financial support from her niece, she underwent a mastectomy. However, chemotherapy was still needed, a costly treatment that threatened her financial stability. Turing to Penang Adventist Hospital’s Charity Department, she received two medical charities totaling RM41,800 covering 73% of her treatment cost.
Ms. Loo’s positive surroundings, including her supportive friends, played a significant role in her journey. With courage and support, she now faces her challenges with happiness and strength, proving that there is a rainbow after every storm.
