Meet the extraordinary Mohamad Andy, a 14 years old boy who seamlessly balanced academic excellence with his passions for sports and art. His room served as a gallery of his many awards and trophies, and his warm-hearted personality charmed everyone he met.
Yet, life took an unexpected twist when Andy began to feel constant fatigue and struggled with walking or standing for extended periods. A visit to the doctor revealed the diagnosis of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis, with his spine curving at a daunting 65°. Urgent surgery became a necessity, but the financial burden was daunting. That’s when the Penang Adventist Hospital Charity Fund stepped in with a RM 50,000 in medical aid.
Andy underwent surgery that corrected the curvature to 9° and added 5cm to his height! Andy is now actively participating in school cadet and marching is possible for him now. His journey serves as an inspiring testament of the power community support.
